The fee is £11.00 per session which we request is paid at the beginning of each term. KCC funding is available for eligible children.

Each session follows a similar routine such as :

The children arrive at 09:30 and whilst parents come and go, staff are able to talk to them and settle children in a relaxed atmosphere.
We find that the children like to choose from the various activities and games around. The morning continues with lots more activities, fun and games.
We all sit together with a drink and a snack. It is a nice time for children to share various conversations and stories.
Opportunities for outdoor play is planned daily engaging children’s senses and for physical activities.
We enjoy our songs, dances and action rhymes, then we settle with a story and prepare to go home.

We adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements of providing activities which help children to develop in the six vital areas of learning. Here are the areas and a brief account of how we hope to achieve them within our sessions:

Language, Literature & Communication Helping the children to listen, extend their vocabulary and communicate, as well as encouraging the beginnings of reading and writing, Imaginary play, song and story times and opportunities to draw, recognise letters and their sounds is great for this.
Creative Development Children enjoy exploring, using their imaginations sharing their thoughts and ideas through art, music, dance and role play activities.
Physical development By producing opportunities to be active, promoting co-ordination, control, manipulation of equipment and in gaining an understanding of the importance of being active and healthy.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development By encouraging the children to play together in groups to gain confidence and by promoting positive self esteem; being aware of their’s and others feelings and sharing.
Maths & Science To familiarise Children with the basics in a broad range of activities for example matching, counting, sorting, measuring concepts of size, sand and water play.
Knowledge & Understanding of the World Observing different environments, cultures and beliefs. Supporting children to understand the world around them through experimenting and real life situations.

We vary the available activities daily planning for the children’s individual learning. This ensures that the children are experiencing new and exciting things. These themes form part of our curriculum. Our 2011/12 curriculum plan can be viewed here.
